Romantic Tunisia
As they say, “there would be no happiness, but misfortune helped” – we planned a vacation at sea at the end of July and the first half of August, it was supposed that this was a gift for our wedding anniversary, but for reasons beyond our control we had to postpone it to September. And did not fail, prolonged the summer, very high quality)
The ticket and the country were chosen spontaneously, with the speed of sound, almost from the airport) Tunisia was chosen on the basis of those considerations that it was not far to fly, the sea was warm, prices were low. End point – Hammamet, 8 days cost us 15,000, 4 star hotel, terrace with great views, all inclusive. And I can definitely say we were not mistaken with the choice.
This is the first trip to my vacation without children with my husband for the last 5 years, so luggage was minimal – two backpacks. Rest in Sousse and an independent trip to Carthage
This year, in early May, we decided to warm up with my husband and fly to the sea. The choice fell on Tunisia, and more specifically – the resort of Sousse, as we were approached by the ratio of price and quality. Of course, I expected a scorching sun and at least a little warm sea, and so I took a whole suitcase of summer clothes. Unfortunately, more than half did not come in handy for me, I went about where I flew from St. Petersburg. The beginning of May is Tunisian spring, the water has not yet warmed up, its temperature is no more than 16 degrees. Sometimes during the day it was possible to bask in the sun, but in the evening most often the temperature dropped to 15 degrees Celsius, plus a cold wind blew. But on excursions we were not knocked down by the sultry heat, as it would be when traveling to Tunisia in July or August! And the ideal time for a beach holiday is September, the velvet season. Youth holidays in Tunisia
It so happened that my two friends got married in September with a weekly difference, and we decided to fly out to the sea for a week with a company of 4 girls and celebrate a bachelorette party there. Moreover, there was a good offer to stay at the Marhaba Palace Hotel, this is a good four right on the beach. We arrived on September 3 at 6 in the morning, and in anticipation of the time of settlement we went to the sea. The beach is cool, fine white sand, there are many places, the sea is warm. The only thing that upset at first was the huge amount of algae and the peculiar smell from them all over the beach. But then a man from the hotel staff came and began to clean the whole thing, and by the dinner the seaweed was gone. For a couple of days in the morning, the sea was zealously cleaned, and then the algae disappeared on their own. But the staff regularly looked after the beach, the cleanliness is perfect. In general, the weather in September is considered the most comfortable here, in August it is still hot, and in October it is already cool. Continue reading
Great stay in Pattaya.
We chose our choice in Thailand, the resort of Pattaya. According to the travel agent, Pattaya is a small resort, modern, many Russians, there are no problems in language exchange. We flew in late April, when the Thais celebrate the new year in their chronology. A good season to relax, it is not very hot, but there is no rain.
We stayed at the Pattaya Park 3 * hotel. On the sites we read that the hotels in Pattaya are distinguished by their “fatigue” and not well-groomed, which we saw. Old furniture, ragged walls, high humidity left traces everywhere. But the room itself was quite comfortable, and everything necessary for living was provided. The great advantage of the hotel was its location, on the 1st coastline, and the presence of markets, cafes, next to the hotel.
Free time from excursions and beach vacations, we walked along the city streets. True, this is not entirely safe for life, since there are few sidewalks for pedestrians, and I mainly had to walk along the carriageway, where crazy rickshaws, cars, and cyclists ride. Continue reading
Holidays in Hua Hin
In early May, flew to Thailand. I picked up the time successfully – the heat is already decreasing, the number of tourists is normal, and there is almost no rain. May is a transitional month between the hot and rainy seasons. In winter, Thailand may be better, but in winter I already visited, I wanted to see the country in May.
You can get to Hua Hin from Bangkok by bus and train. The latter option is cheaper and more interesting. A class 3 carriage is very cheap, about 40 rubles, it seems, foreigners rarely come across inside, but the national color is for all 100 – merchants go around the cars and offer all kinds of food. You can even learn a few Thai words, for example, “saparot” is “pineapple”.
The station in Hua Hin turned out to be pretty beautiful, I spun around it, studied the schedule, and then went to look for some cheap hotel or hostel. There are plenty of places to spend the night in the city, because it is a resort, but you needed something inexpensive. As a result, he settled in a hotel, where there was one dormitory room.
