Great stay in Pattaya.
We chose our choice in Thailand, the resort of Pattaya. According to the travel agent, Pattaya is a small resort, modern, many Russians, there are no problems in language exchange. We flew in late April, when the Thais celebrate the new year in their chronology. A good season to relax, it is not very hot, but there is no rain.
We stayed at the Pattaya Park 3 * hotel. On the sites we read that the hotels in Pattaya are distinguished by their “fatigue” and not well-groomed, which we saw. Old furniture, ragged walls, high humidity left traces everywhere. But the room itself was quite comfortable, and everything necessary for living was provided. The great advantage of the hotel was its location, on the 1st coastline, and the presence of markets, cafes, next to the hotel.
Free time from excursions and beach vacations, we walked along the city streets. True, this is not entirely safe for life, since there are few sidewalks for pedestrians, and I mainly had to walk along the carriageway, where crazy rickshaws, cars, and cyclists ride.
The most interesting and memorable event during the rest was a trip to the river. Kwai, 2 days. The river is located in the mountainous region of Thailand, so I had to go at least 400 km. The travel agent provided a comfortable bus with a guide. I really liked that the seats on the bus can be laid out like a bed. During the trip, we stopped on various mini-excursions: feeding the monkeys, the floating market, the royal palaces of the capital of Bankok, visiting the elephant farm and riding. We spent the night in a hotel on the bank of the river. Kwai, I remember the purity of the mountain air and the croaking of frogs all night. Another memorable tour was Bankok, a visit to a fish restaurant on the highest building of Bayok. Here we visited the observation platform, which offers a magnificent view, and then a restaurant. Buffet-style food, a lot of various delicacies, from fried grasshoppers to various types of meat.
The most negative impression was left of the beaches of Pattaya. The beaches are municipal, and nobody especially watches their cleanliness. Here, if you wish, you can find everything from garbage to the corpses of animals and homeless people washing in the bay. When talking with other tourists, we learned that our beach is not the worst, it turned out that closer to the center of Pattaya, the beaches look even worse. There is no infrastructure, no toilet, no shower.
Thailand is a great place for shopping. The exchange rate of the national currency and the Russian ruble at that time was equal, so many goods could be bought at all cheaply. A wide selection of items, the cost of which starts from 150 rubles and above, is mainly Chinese, at a price much cheaper than in Russia.
There is no problem with food in Pattaya, but only if you have a strong stomach and a supply of medications for poisoning. Then you can eat in street cafes, squares, buy something in the markets. If you can’t stand the clean Asian food, then you can visit the cafe (there is all the world cuisine), but 2-3 times more expensive.
Cons of relaxation: If you decide to take a break from your compatriots, in this case, Pattaya will not work for you. There are a lot of Russians! The feeling that you came to Abkhazia or Sochi. Dirty beaches and lack of opportunities to relax with children.
Pros: an interesting country, there is something to see, with any type of vacation.
