Reverse side of the holiday on the Cote d’Azur.

Having settled permanently in Germany, we decided to drive Europe by car during our summer vacation. Having visited Spain, France, we stopped on the Cote d’Azur. This was our first trip abroad, since in our native Ukraine we did not go further than the Black Sea. We looked forward to the trip, having read before it on the Internet enthusiastic exclamations about this resort.

The first thing that upset me was the beach. It is small, narrow, and even pebbles, and not clean sand. But most of all I was outraged that the main road passed just along the main beach. Even to go to the Arabat Spit in Genichesk you can see a more attractive beach than this. More decent beaches were on the territory of expensive hotels, but since by law they have no right to protect their territory, there is no point in paying big bucks for a wonderful beach, as next to you has the right to rest any person who came to this beach. The color of the water of course in the sea lives up to its name. I’ve never seen one like this before – crystal clear and transparent! You could of course visit paid beaches, prices for which ranged from 40 to 50 euros per person. Continue reading →
