Youth holidays in Tunisia

It so happened that my two friends got married in September with a weekly difference, and we decided to fly out to the sea for a week with a company of 4 girls and celebrate a bachelorette party there. Moreover, there was a good offer to stay at the Marhaba Palace Hotel, this is a good four right on the beach. We arrived on September 3 at 6 in the morning, and in anticipation of the time of settlement we went to the sea. The beach is cool, fine white sand, there are many places, the sea is warm. The only thing that upset at first was the huge amount of algae and the peculiar smell from them all over the beach. But then a man from the hotel staff came and began to clean the whole thing, and by the dinner the seaweed was gone. For a couple of days in the morning, the sea was zealously cleaned, and then the algae disappeared on their own. But the staff regularly looked after the beach, the cleanliness is perfect. In general, the weather in September is considered the most comfortable here, in August it is still hot, and in October it is already cool.

Dali excellent rooms with sea view. The hotel is not bad, but old, in some places it needs repair. In the bathroom, a cockroach fell out of the ventilation once, we are shy girls, so we called the maid. She carefully wrapped it in a rag and took it off somewhere, we did not meet with insects anymore. Breakfast at the hotel is very tasty and varied, but the dinners did not like. Some awkward salads, and the cook does not know how to cook fish at all. At dinner, even paid water.

The beach is full of water fun, but the price is bugged. Some equipment is quite old. I love parachuting at sea, but here, frankly, I didn’t dare, the construction seemed very unreliable. Water scooters are also very tired. A very helpful scourge of the battle brought sunbeds, umbrellas and even coffee sometimes. The sea is comfortable, warm, few people. Once it rained heavily with a thunderstorm, but after an hour there was not a cloud in the sky.

In the evenings we walked to Port El Kantaoui, which is about 8 kilometers from the center of Sousse. It can be reached by bus, tourist train or taxi. There is a huge selection of cafes and restaurants for every taste, where they cook fish very tasty. It is not cheap there, but many cooks brought us free ice cream or dessert as a bonus. A lot of hookah, if you are lovers of this business, then you are here. We ordered a hookah every evening, I do not have such fragrant tobacco in my hometown. A large selection of evening sea excursions, barkers stand every five meters and are slightly annoying. The nightlife here is very diverse, many discos, we visited the largest Bora Bora and Maracana. Fun, crowded, good music, but nothing unusual. The local population respects the distance, no one bothers, but it’s even better not to look at the local men, they take this for their willingness to communicate. But in general, on the streets and in institutions you feel safe.

From the sights we visited the Phrygia Zoo, took an excursion from a tour operator for $ 50. A great opportunity to look at animals in their natural habitat, many are allowed to feed, a huge and well-organized area. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you are relaxing with the kids. A lot of impressions! After the visit, we had a cultural program, a national dinner and a performance. I liked everything very much, no one imposed anything and did not offer to buy.

We planned to visit the catacombs, underground caves known in Sousse, but one of the friends had a sudden attack of claustrophobia, so we did not reach the end. The impression is a little creepy. Be sure to visit Medina – this is a classic oriental bazaar with endless rows and Arabs ready to bargain. You can pick up a bunch of nice little things and souvenirs.

In general, the rest was very successful, had a wonderful time, sunbathed, dulled and danced. Cons, except for a cockroach in the ventilation and tasteless dinners at the hotel, no longer noticed. Well, the fish is perhaps a little expensive for a seaside resort. And since Tunisia is perfect for youth holidays with a company, I would love to come back here.
